So I've been pretty damn slow with my website lately so here is a late date all in one!

I last left off with the ominous down days in AK. After 12 days of waiting we got a few half day sun pops. Gotta be prepared to ski the most prestigious gnarly lines in the world after many down days.


This year was a huge learning experience for me! Nowhere near last years trip. The snow was much deeper, the lines much steeper and more treacherous. What your line looks like from the valley floor, nice lookin puffy pillows, turns into school bus sized pillows and overhead deep cold smoke powder. Well that makes it interesting. Navigation of your line is key. Skiing the best you can, rolling over massive sized pillows hoping the other side is the next pillow you spotted from the valley floor, as you land your completely white roomed by the over head cold smoke pow, all while your sluff is cruising along side you. Making sure to be on top of the spine so you wont get swooped away.

This is the result of a huge cornice failure. The most amazing act of RAW power I have ever seen!!!!!
As I watched the cornice drop It looked like water funneling into a drain.






To give an example of these pillow lines, I was skiing my line, rolled over a pillow and unexpectedly smacked the backside of another and fell backwards into a 12ft deep crack in between the pillows. I had to click off one ski putting that foot on one side of the wall while keeping the other ski up against the other wall so I didn’t fall deeper in the hole. Climbing out was tricky!

We then called the run Black Hole.



Alaska takes many years to hit right! It’s not a one time deal. Lots of photo recon, line studying down to the exact turn you will make. Knowing exposures, snow stability, sluff management and many other things all come into play when you’re riding the beast of Alaska. Stoked to have the last 2 years under my belt, working towards achieving my goals in AK!



Next headed back up to Whistler for a few days of shooting, catching the last bit of powda before it got warm! Fun times with Henni, Riley, Charlie, and Sherpa.

A day of sledding isn’t complete with out getting stuck one way or another :P Stack and I decided it was a good idea to hit a mini air back down towards the cat track. Not thinking about the run out time we both slammed into the other wall haha!

On this one I hit a hip air and was to crooked to land so I jumped off. Forgetting the massive slope full of trees I was on, as my sled disappeared over the roll I came to terms that my sled was totaled in the trees. Luckily this was all that happened :)

Then I went down to Oregon to meet up with Pete. He unfortunately got hit by a lady driving reckless as hell. It happened at silent rock... Thankfully the all knowing Oregonite walked away!
His brand new 2010 Tundra didn't though.


Excited to get going with the park shoot we setup a nice jib on the bottom of the chairlift. Sammy and I sessioned for a while, I had a trick in my mind I wanted to do and decided to try it. Tried it a few times, coming close but tweaking my mcl. So now I’ve just been relaxing at the PBP house taking a much needed break, mobbing the truck a little bit, swimming at the pool getting stronger and psyched to ski again!

The weather finally cleared for us! Got to get out for a day and ski some of the lines I had scoped. Pretty crazy skiing. Like nothing I have ever skied before. Just on a whole different scale up here! Pretty amazing to be in such mountains. Raw power.

We are now 2 days of rain since we got that one day break. Hopefully pops soon, I'm gonna go crazy!!!!

Lots of hard work in Whistler, sessioning daily trying to get the trick shots I have had in mind all season. Then straight to AK without a day off! Flying with Dan Carr and Steve Rozendaal to meet up with Tyler Hamlet, Tim Durtschi, Pep Fujas, Julien Regnier and comin in later Jp Auclair. Been here for two days so far. Stoked to be greeted by sunshine both days! What a great way to start an epic trip! The snow has been awesome and the lines epic! I have never seen such an abundance of pillowy spines! So stoked! I'm having some issues uploading pics so when I can I'll get them up!

I have been in Whistlaaaa for about 10 days now. What a great time its been so far! It has been dumping the last few days!!!! So stoked to finally be where the pow is, really makes a big difference. Had a great day today seshin a road gap! Tons of deep powder sledding and some nice turns in the trees! What fun it is here in the deep deep powder!

Whistler is pretty much one of the sickest places to seld I think! Been out filming with Jeff Thomas, riding with Charlie, Henitiuk, Riley and Sherpa! Great guys to be chillin with in the mountains! The snow conditions have been pretty shit at lower elevations, icey as hell. So we have been riding high alpine at Rutherford. So much sledding out there!
Hopefully better snow soon!

Jappppan!!!! Was sweet! 15 days with Sammy, Mike, Tyler, Dan, Steve and yes the Notorious Schmuck! We where based out of Niseko where we stayed at the Black Diamond Lodge, well actually the Freeride lodge but ate at BD. Great american food lol, so we weren't always eating raw fish :P Though it is great in Japan!!!!!

Big adventures! Lots of driving and lots of hiking. Hiking in waste deep japan fluffyness! What a quest! The amount of effort sure showed on this trip what it takes to make a segment. We got to ski some great pillow lines! And fun jiby lines!

A week at home and now in Whistler. Sledding with Jeffy, Dan, Mike, Riley and Charlie! A great crew of talented filmers/photogs and athletes. Today was the first day out sledding and it was great! Spring is showing in the valleys, but right on the tippy tops the powder is still great for shredding! Once you find the correct aspect that is.

Stayin with my buddi Ben and his girl, some fresh pasta is waiting for me! Yummmmm!

So I got the chance to head out to Aspen for the Powder Video Awards, as well as check out some of the action at X Games. I have never been to X Games, let me say it's just awesome! The talent level was ridiculously high, new tricks where being thrown, everyone was feeding off each others crazyness! So sick! Then last night I attended Powder Awards. I was nominated for Breakthrough Performer and Best Male Performer. I ended up taking home, Breakthrough Performer. I couldn't be more stoked!

Now in the airport on my way back to Rossland. Heading out to do another week of sledding and then off to Japan with Sammy, Henitiuk, Tyler, Schmuck and Steve for two weeks of epic powderrrrrr!

The Whistler crew of Dane Tudor, Charley Ager, and Brandon Kelly continued the search for pow, pillows, and mini golf fun in 2010!

The Whistler new year brought us heavy amounts of snow over continuous days. Once the hangovers subsided and the visibility got a tad better the sleds were fired up and we were right back at 'er. It began with a 530 am start and finding Danes truck being towed by a possessive neighbour and their very important numbered parking spot. Anyways, the quick detour to Whistler towing didn't slow us down at all. We met Sherpa and Chuck at the zone, and the early morning dark pow riding began.

It was Dane and Chucks first "pow" day filming, and the boys didn't miss a beat. Switch landings, big airs, and some pretty solid crashes commenced the day. Dane even maned up to a pillow line on his sled...pretty unique :) stoked on that.













This is just day one with the Whistler boys in 2010, and we are excited to have Spriggs, Sammy, TJ and Tyler up this way for some deep powder snow the coastal Canadian way.

Dew Tour is now upon us. Tomorrow is the open qualifier for slopestyle, the coarse is sick! The jumps feel pretty big, haven't hit a decent jump yet this year so its all about getting used to all the extra time in the air now! There are a lot more rails than last year, there are 8 total! I have a few runs mapped out in my head. Learned my unatural switch and forward 7s finally, feeling good and gonna lay it down tomorrow!!!!

So it's 5 days from Dew Tour. Chillin at the Salomon house, what a setup. Got Tyler Gigg-TM throwin down gettin the house ill and making sure we all have our gear setup for training. His wife Haley cookin us awesome dinners everynight. The crew, Myself, B Paul, Vinnie Cash, Charles Gagnier, AJ Kemppainen and Woodsy. Other Salomon riders droppin in to chill as well as B dog and Jf Houle. Chris Taylor, tuning our skis, keepin them fast! Yohann our personal physio helping us with injurys. Sick place to be!!!! Sorry for the lack of posts! I've been traveling a bit now, chillin in vail at the moment. Waiting for Dew tour, then heading out somewhere to ride powwwww!
Bought my first truck last week! So stokeddddd! My first big purchase! The truck is a 06 Nissan Titan, Silver with Ill leather interior. Got a good deal on it! :) Started snowing a bit in Vail, Me, Spriggs and B headed up and shredded Vail. The 2 inches was like pow! So used to seeing icey parks. Looking forward to some more snow dropping in the next day or so! Hope for a few feet!!!!!!!! Winterrrr!

Went out with Pete and Forest today to session a tree jib! Driving up with no snow in Bend but ending up seeing a foot of fluffy white in the pass:D ! Started sessioning, speed was tuff, the snow insisted on dumping more white flakes on us which was sticky and slow! Ended up getting the speed, got a sick shot! Super stoked!!

Cant wait to film some more!

SOOOOO finally made it to Geneva, over 24hrs later!!!! T Gigg Salomon Int manager picked me up at the airport in a fresh Salomon Sabb! What a siiiick ride!!!!! Chilled out cruised around the lake then headed over to the Salomon factory to meet up with Bruno and grab some fresh clothessssss! Poppin taggggs! Early this morning headed out to pick up Salomon's newest addition to the team, Henrick Winstead! On the way there Tyler decided to go by color code while fueling up the Sabb we where rollin in, putting in a few splashes of gas in a diesel car! HAHAHA! Luckily no damage was done! Next stop Chamonix! WOW pretty much sums up Chamonix! The most amazing place on earth! Going up the tram to the Aiguille du midi was amazing! Felt pretty comfortable till right at the top, when I realized the tram dock was perched on a pinnacle of rock!!! Scary shit! Standing at a hight of 3842 meters, or 12600 feet it is wiiiiild! Quite the experience! It blows my mind that they where able to be able to build anything at the top of that peak. The French are on another level!!!! Chamonix's shear magnitude will put you in your place in seconds. Not to toy with. People die on a weekly basis out here. Don't be fooled. Thanks to Digi Dave and T Gigg for the photos!

Soooooo I am heading out to France for the Salomon meetings, all packed and ready to go. My flight leaves at 1:30 A.M. I live an hour or so away from the airport, leave my house at 11:30 rush there to make sure I don't miss the hour deadline checkin. Get there, talking to the lady at the counter who recognized me from the local paper that had done an article on me that day. She goes to check me in and can't find me in the computer, so I pull out my lap top and show her my itinerary, she looks at the date and goes. "Your booked on the 17th....." And I'm like "Yeah!" and she says, "todays the 16th..." Turns out I really don't pay attention to my dates very well lol! Heading off to france tonight! Going for round 2! :P

I'm in AK at the moment chillin out riding, swimming at the pool for fitness and tramping at Denli Gymnastics. It's nice to be back, been over 2 years since I've made it back home! So much travel.
